Is there a way to provide keywords as search terms for words that are logically related to the subect of an article but not necessarily contained in the body or title of the article? For example, we have an article about a lake and it doesn't contain the word 'water' but I still would like the article to appear as one of the results of a search for water. Congrats, Scott ...

Not currently, but I have been thinking about adding keywords/tagging to articles (Categories are a form of tagging as well). You are talking about the internal news article search right?
