Now that you can use the default editor it would be helpful to make the editor selectable like AF.

New version is very nice btw.

Thanks

I'll see what I can do, I've been just adding the text editor user control to the page, and let it do the loading.

This is not a big deal. I just like the way I can restrict users to text only in AF.

Don't waste much time on it because of my post, I can control the Cute Editor by role anyway so it's no thing...

Thanks

Hm, I want to limit down the number of features in the free text box, but it seems the only way to do is to change the core provider?

The problem is I want to disable the image gallery, and get rid of some of the other toolbars. I mean, the image gallery allows users to see images in your root portal folder, which are secured by roles, but still it would be better if the option wasn't there.

With active editor, does it give your users access to things they shouldn't have, or is that restricted by role?

Scott,

Out of the box the cute editor will allow you to control 3 "Roles". Administrator, Registered Users and guests. I have asked Will to take a look at the current provider to see if he can add a bit more functionality for me as whats there is a good start but not quite enough. There really needs to an additional "SiteStaff" role.

The other thing he is looking at is root folders by role. I don't ming guests having access to some basic images, it's allowing them to see the whole lot of 'em that bothers me.

I would be very interested in your thoughts on the Cute Editor if you've had a chance to give it a try. I've pretty much decided to standardize on it as it beats the pants off FTB.

I'll be getting the cute editor for a client's site in the upcoming weeks, the screenshots look good.

I've made some changes to FTB for private messages that i'll be releasing shortly. Basically turning off the toolbars and only enabling basic features. This will only happen when using FTB. Appears to work OK.
