I had a subscription about a year and a half ago. I was thinking about renewing. But there does not seem to be any notable changes that would make me feel like it's worth spending more money. It's like time stood still.
I could make a long list of mods. But, right now I would like the ability to add an avatar to the news articles and the messages module. That would spice up social networking sites. Maybe you can talk to the guy at smart-thinker about using his profile upload to add avatars to your items? It seems like an easy mod. But, I don't know how to do it.

First, I disagree that time has stood still (maybe for private messages), but there have been plenty of enhancements to other modules and the addition of a new module (file links). See the announcement forums for a full list. You have always been about to use 3rd party avatars by the use of templating in news articles. You could call a 3rd party module using the [USERID] and pass in that as a parameter. Specifically, for smart thinker, the url is:- "/DesktopModules/Smart-Thinker%20-%20UserProfile/Profile.ashx?id=[USERID]" The most recent release has added interaction with the smart thinker story board module. See announcement here. |

I use a lot of Ventrian's modules, and Scott is always coming out with new and improved features across the products. I don't have a single subscription that gives me more improvements for the $. While there are plenty of new ideas for features, it is unfair to suggest that time has stood still.

| I agree, no other module developer keeps releasing new functionality like Scott, not to mention many of the enhancements come from direct feedback by users in the field. I've paid more for a single function module from other developers that then shelved the product completely. I'll keep my subscription going for a long time. |
