Hi,

I would like to use this module for my new project as it is one of the best modules for DNN. My question is: Is it possible that each user, once he login, can only see his items/properties and nothing else. So basically, there is are no items/properties availible for public - only for individuals. It will be something like private diary?

Also is it possible for user to use an option and to make his item/property (diary entry) available for public?

Thanks.

A lot of people have asked for this functionality.

e.g. only see their own properties.

I assume you would block access to the page so only registered users could see it? Would admin need ability to see other properties.

I've definitely been interested in this.. even more so if I were able to import a CSV of data into the module and have it populate the fields as desired.

An assigned role would certainly need to be able to see/edit/moderate all, but otherwise, each person would only see their own.

What I need is basically a view where it only displays properties based on the user that is logged in and the admin could see all properties.

So when a non-authenticated user goes to the page they wouldn't see any properties.

When a registered user goes to the page they only see the properties they have added an no-one elses.  Admins can see all properties.

It almosts seems like it's an extension of the the lockdown function, except instead of just working edit rights on the property it effects the view rights as well.  If the propety is 'ticked private' and 'locked down' then only that user can view and edit their own properties.

I hope this makes sense...

I was looking this over again...and I see how you can mark a listing/field Featured, Listing, Manager and was wondering if you can add one called 'Private' to get the type functionality i described above. I realize this is much more involved than just adding a token as it's dealing with security. I'm willing to sponsor this funciton to get this moving forward...Please PM if your interested.

THanks,
Jerry

I think I prefer a global setting rather than rely on a user to mark each property as private.

What do you think? The global setting would make all properties only available to the author.

Admins would be able to see all only in the property manager.

Perfect! I really like that idea much better....That way when you drop an instance of the PA on a page, you can decide right there how it's going to be used... then you can drop another instance of the PA on another page and use it normally.
