As discussed in this topic, it is necessary to have a 301 redirect for all "old URL' (without the language parameter in it).
In addition to this, it will strongly help SEO if you can add the SUMMARY as the Meta Tag DESCRIPTION. Today, we already have the title in the meta tag, that's perfect, but adding the meta description (using summary) would be great. Maybe limiting the meta description to xxx characters ? xxx = 150 ??
What people think ?

I think this request is way over due:))
It should be configurable though - like in Property Agent. We do not use the Summary so it won't be of much use if that's the only option. |

Hi all...
I would suggest not to automatically add the first few link of the article to become meta description unless every of your article content started with a summary.
It would much better to let Search Engine to automatically extract the "description" from your content as that is what people searching it for.
Meta description is good for normal or messy pages with a lot of content and function etc but never good for articles. That is why Blogspot and wordpress never has meta description unless you add in a plugin.

Having the summary into the description is a very good thing to my opinion.
In case you want to avoid this, just clear the template and you do not have the meta description populated with the summary. ;-)
But on my side, I have problems because I have some token like [ARTICLELINK:245] in summary, and it is not converted correctly into the meta description, it appears as [ARTICLE] instead of appearing as the title of the article....

This problem (showing "[ARTICLE]" instead of the article link) has been solved with latest release, 00.07.32
