Hi.
I used to have a DNN 3.x site. Then it got moved to an ASP.NET 2.0 server, and an upgrade to DNN 4.x was attempted. Now I got a parser error that my host's support don't want anything to do with. They are suggesting that I try a complete reinstall of DNN...
Enough with the storytelling, here comes the question:
Is there any easy way to extract a Simple Gallery from a DNN 3.x backup and importing/merging it into a clean DNN 4.x installation? I can find all the pictures in a bunch of folders, but the strukture is flattened, so I guess I have to get the album/subalbums information from somewhere else.
Any help is appreciated.

Simple Gallery also supports the IExportable interface that allows you to export/import content from a simple gallery instance.
This will export an xml file with the albums and photos in it. If you do this, and then reimport elsewhere you'll need to copy the photos accross to the filesystem of the new portal. |
