Yep, this has been asked quite a few times, 
I am upgrading Private Messages (News Articles is done minus localization). You can expect to see it on this site shortly.
And yes, I will be adding to the module with the great suggestions provided through the suggestion box. |

Can you share some of the enhancements?
I hope it includes Pop-Ups or some more visual notification as well as a more friendly address book.
I also had another thought that would be very handy for sites with tons of users.... Only turn on PM for members of a specific security role, and only return those authorized members in the PM address book. |

Yes, there will be changes to how you select users to send to, and maybe multiple recipients.
I realise that on a site with lots of users, the find user isn't the best. |

I have a nice js script somewhere that shows a toaster style message from the right bottom corner.
It was originally released for Snitz Forums, if you're interested I'll contect the developer and see if you can use it.
