I have been getting a lot of SPAM comments lately. I have moderation and captcha turned on so they don't get seen by the public and the captcha has slowed it but I would like to be able to block them. I know it won't fix the problem but it would help. Is there anyway to save the IP when someone leaves a comment so that I could block it.

Blake, This is something that I believe Scott is working on. Exposing the IP as a token. But then you have to either use IIS to block the IP or another module or other. I've just started having problems with spam comments as well. A system-wide block is definitely going to be the most effective and it'd be handy to know what the ip is.

Hello Scott, I would like to add [IPADDRESS] into the "Approve Comment" page. Is this possible ??? I do not find the template for modifying it. I would also need to add the email address into this page. Can you guide me (if it need coding or anything else, forget I am not good enough...) DV FX

Hello Scott, I have tested 00.07.17 --> Not there. IP is missing, as well as anonymous email. Can you please schedule it for the next release ??? DV FX

For those of you having problems with Spam, I ran across an article by Mitchel Sellers that deals with "Request Filters" in the DNN settings. Hello goBlanks, I am using my provider tool to deny IP address (outside of DNN - directly on the server). My problem currently: I need to run a SQL query to obtain the IP or to look up the database. I would rather prefer to display it directly in the "approve comment" page... Would be perfect. DV FX
