Something that might be handy would be the ability to set an expiry date on whether an article is featured or not. I'm using the Latest Articles on one of my sites and, in my situation, it's not difficult to manually go back in and turn off the featured on each article but on a site that really gets a lot of articles I could see a possibility for things to get out of control.

Sounds like a good feature, I will be revisiting some of the more practical aspects of News Articles. Maybe even having a simple and an advanced mode. Could you lodge this in the feedback center when it is up later on today?
