In the portal settings (Admin->Site Settings), I set the Time zone to Eastern (UTC -5:00).

I the NewsArticle Settings, there is another Timezone setting... I also set this to Eastern (UTC -5:00)

Now, when I create a new article, the Publish Date defaults to 7 hours ahead of Now()... wierd.

If I set the NewsArticles Timezone to Dublin (UTC +0)m the default publish date is Now() which is what I would expect.

Seems like there is some type of addition going on here.  Would be better to just use the value defined in the Portal Settings than allow a different value here.

OK, i just went back and tried it again and it seemed to be OK... weird. I'm not sure what was going on before.

However, I still think having a TimeZone setting for the module is a little redundant. Is there some use case where someone would need the timezone of the module to be different than the timezone set in the Portal Settings?

Yes, for me !!

;-)

I have a multi lingual website, and I need different time zone for different pages (and different modules).
