Have you thought about linking the user ID to the DNN core profile. I wan to let my users post articles and I feel if they can link back to a personal profile, they will be incentivised to write more articles.
Thanks,
Sean |

[AUTHORID] is the user ID of the author who submitted the article. Could you link that through the template to the profile? |

I am still getting to learn your mods. I have seen some great example of what people have done with your mods, I am looking to find someone who has found a way to make this happen. Has anyone tried to make this work on thier site?
Thsnks,

A bit perplexed by what you meant by this? Could you elaborate a bit more on how this may be achieved. I would be quite interested in somehow linking to a user's profile as well. |

Yes!
Please do.......I think if I can offer users a profile, they will post more articles!

I'll be adding the profile fields this week, including support for a 3rd party module that adds photo capability to profiles. This will allow you to display the details about a user alongside the article. I'll probably create an author page that you can can click through to as well (similar to the one active forums has). |

Scott,
Here is a link to a conversation I started on DNN concerning bulking up the main DNN profile. I referenced the essential mods to building an interactive site, forums, blogs, your article mod, etc.
Several people chimed in (I think more would of, if I would have posted this in the main forums) and agreed there are too many applications with their own profiles included. Now users are getting confused and frustrated, as they are now having to maintain two or sometimes three separate profiles.
I think DNN moving in the direction Digg.com went is the way to take the application to the next level. Please click on the link and let me know what you think.
If more developers start to link their applications to the core DNN profile, we can justify more time spent on making the profiles more robust.

The profile integration sounds swell.. Scott, are you by any chance referring to Smart-Thinker's profile, or something proprietary on your end? Cheers |

You'll be able to create a template that reads each of the core profiles, you display which ones to view. As for smart-thinker, if they have a user profile page, you could probably link to it now in the template passing along the [AUTHORID]. |

| Ivan actually got his site working with Smart-Thinker's module and pulled the image out through a javascript tag. Rodney from Smart-Thinker got it working as well.. So this can be done. Looking forward to everything else. :) New site is almost finished in pure XHTML, so can't wait to add the finishing touches with these few things. |
