Hi,
i have write an article with a summary, a detail and a link to a site's file.
I use the expandable template.
When i click on "read more" i can see the summary, but when i click on "Read Full Article" i cannot read the details, but the module show me the attached file.

| The ony way to do this right now is to create your link to the file from the text in your article. Once you add an attachment the "Details" section canot be accessed. |

| I would say this a pretty common requirement, so I'll be looking at how to resolve this when doing the refactoring of the news articles module (something I just did for simple gallery). |

| Thanks Stefano, if you modify the default template, you can make that read more link always link to the detail by using [ARTICLELINK] as opposed to [LINK]. |

You are welcome !!
But now i have found another issue.
If you click on the "read more" hyprelink you get the attached file like this sample.
http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Portals/0/test.zip
This URL showed by the hyperlink is in "clear-text" and this is a BIG problem.
Infact if you right-click the hyperlink, copy the link and paste it on the browser adddress bar, you (and everyone) will be able to download the file even if you don't have the permission or aren't registerd in the site.
Could you help me again ?
Thanks in advance

| You need to look at secured files within the DNN file manager, this should keep them secure. |

Thanks for your info.
i have created a secured folder using DNN File Manager and a new article with a link to a file inside the secured folder.
But when i click on the hyperlink the link don't work because it point to an URL with wrong name.
Infact the link is apparentely formed like if it is not inside a secured folder.
I have prepared a page in my site so you can try and understand what i mean.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
i have made another test using "database folder".
I have created a database folder and put a file inside it.
Than i have created an article with a link to a file inside this folder.
Also in this case the file's download link don't work.
I think that also this post in the forum "images in secure folder not showing up"
http://www.ventrian.com/Support/ProductForums/tabid/118/view/topic/forumid/4/postid/23170/Default.aspx
is related to the problem with secured folder.
Thanks in advance for your reply
Stefano

You need to edit your template and include the link in quotes.
Hope this helps,
Joe |

Secure folders aren't supported until the codebase is upgraded to support a higher version of DNN.
This won't be at least for the next 2 weeks. |

| Stefano, I'm in the process of upgrading the modules to a VS2005 codebase supporting 4.x only, at this time i'll be adding secure folder support and display name support. |
