What would one need to do to deliver the "enclosure" to someone subscribing with a desktop Podcasting client?

When you are talking about enclosure, I assume you mean embedding the audio file somewhere in the RSS feed so something like itunes picks it up as an audio file to download it?

I haven't really done much like this, but maybe someone else has.

That is exactly what I am talking about. I would love to be able to do this for any "article" that has an "attachment" of any type.

Do you have examples of other "feeds" that do this?

Just got started with News Articles today and it didn't take long to come across this topic.

If enclosures could be included into the rss feed I would be able to combine my staff's blogs and their podcast into a single feed.  Would be awesome.

Another thing and this may be in the forums elsewhere.  If the article content is a file (mp3 or other) could the "Read More..." be dynamically changed to "Play Audio..." or "Play Video"?

I've looked into this, it doesn't look too difficult to add this enclosure for the "attachment".

Sweet.  This module looks like it is really going to be a work horse for us.

Thanks

I'd also love to be able to include podcasts with blog entries. This has my vote, too!!

Is this available now, or will it be coming out soon?

I've done the work offline and it will be released tomorrow.

It takes attachments and includes the enclosure element in RSS feeds (if an attachment has been specified).

I've added enclosures now, can you let me know if it works OK.

I'll get those tokens added now as well Jack, to allow the play audio, etc.

The new simple gallery has been taking up quite a lot of time, but it should be worth it.

It seems to work well so far, but I noticed that the title of the Podcast is taken from the name of the site:

In the XML feed, it shows:

< title >My website title< /title >

Rather than the title of the blog. I'm not sure if that was meant to be that way. I haven't subscribed to my test feed yet so I could be wrong.

But I like it a lot!

Also, did we ever figure out  a way to make the "read more" changed to "Play audio" when it's an MP3?

Are you talking about the play audio being rendered that way in the templates?

The title of the RSS feed does come from the website name I think.

Scott, the enclosure also needs to be identified when it is another file type. Right now it won't include .wmv, wma or pdf files and those need to be downloaded as enclosures as well.
