I need to upload a articules that belong to another user, the other user is newbie using my portal, so I will like to help him creating the articules, BUT I do not want to use his user account to upload the articles (I do not want to take his identity)...but his is the owner of the article(Copyright).

So If I create the article using my username, how can I change the author... Can I just go to the article table and update the author? Does not affect the stats or other stuff?

 Thanks...

Alfonso

Yep, you can go to the table and that would be OK.

I'll be adding a feature to the screen that will allow you to do this.

There is a "change author" function in the edit page for the article, but it isn't working.  Everytime I attempt to change an author, it stays the same.

Also...

Is there a way to add authors without making them users in DNN?

I can't reproduce the issue.

If I click edit on an article, click change author and select an author from a dropdown (list populated by users that have "SUBMIT" access).

No, you must be a registered DNN user to post articles.

OK. And now some clarification on my part [laugh].

I just tried changing authors. After clicking "Update," I'm still in the edit window for the article. The author's name hasn't changed. However, when I return to the page that has the "Latest" module, it has changed. Could this be some sort of caching issue?

As far as adding authors, I figured that was the case. I'll have to get my client to change his stubborn way of thinking [laugh].

When you click update, it should take you to the article itself.

Can you confirm:-

1.) There is no validation (required fields) left on the form.
2.) You are using the latest release (00.06.17)

This is what happens when I try to do too many things at once.

Yes, you are correct. When I click update it returns me to the article. I just updated from version .13 to .17. Changing between authors who are DNN users works.

However... [laugh] one last question.

In the drop-down list for changing authors, one of the selections is "No Author." Does this selection do anything? I attempted to change an article to "No Author" but it has no effect.

Not sure, it should set it to having no author, but I'll have to check.
