I'm trying to figure out the best way to hide the toolbar links at the top of the articles module.  I realize I would still want access (as admin) to "My Articles", "Create Articles", etc, but I don't want visitors navigating categories from any single page.  I can create separate links for Search and Syndication, so I would really like to remove that whole section from view with respect to visitors.

Is there a recommended method of doing this, or should I go straight to the aspx files?

At the moment, straight to the ascx files, at some stage in the future, it will be templated however..

I didn't get a chance to sit down and tinker with this until now, but if I simply remove the links I spoke of earlier from the ucHeader.ascx file, then the entire articles news module ceases to display at all.  I still haven't got my bearings on DNN module development so I really don't know how to proceed.

Any tips or tricks to share?

Ahh, you woudn't want to delete the links, but the there visible attributes to false. or put a panel around them and set that visible=false

Do you mean the "View Article" module title? It should be in the localization for that control..

Hello again!

I'm sorry - I can't find it. You mean I should have a ucViewArticle.ascx to translate? Well, there is no such file.

regards Ylva

Has this ever made it into a template? I cannot see how to remove this for non-admin users... Did I miss something or do I still need to edit the control?

--CORRECTION--

I am very unobservant, I found it. It’s the Menu.Item.Html template. I simply put [ISADMIN] around everything. Works like a charm. Sorry for the false alarm!
