I'll be adding this functionality into the next release, essentially it will allow you to link an article off to any of the above mention things. If you leave it on the default of "None", then it will function as normal.
 
The trick comes when skinning, it will probably be like this:-
 
[ISFILE]
Download File
[/ISFILE]
[ISURL]
Article URL
[/ISURL]
 
How does that sound? Is 1 article attachment enough? If there is more then 1, I'll need to rethink the layout a bit.
 
Once I have the skinning perfected I'll be releasing a comprehensive document, sorry for the lack of documentation in that area. Hopefully the default template is providing a good example.

I would think one is enough for the first version.  Then lets see if a need arises for more.  I would also like to see a None option so that it does not give you the ability to see anything else (great for just a plane old announcement).
