Scott...great module...a couple of feature questions please:
1. It'd be very helpful to be able to include tokens in the text of the article and have them replaced at display time with user information, e.g., [UserID], [FullName], [FirstName], etc. This would be similar to/exactly what you have with the email template, with the only addition being UserID.

2. Can you also designate to display an article using a specific template/skin based on the module that is calling it?

I appreciate it. Thanks. Patrick.

1. You can do this via cusotmizing the templates in /Templates. They are files rather then through screens at the moment.

2. I could add a parameter that selects a template and does not use the one you have configured in admin options.

Scott...sorry, but I still can't figure out how to change something in the template (in /Templates) that will designate what tokens to replace in the article itself, e.g., like the [UserID] of the person reading the article (assumes that they are logged in to read).

I looked at the .xml file that was with some of them and if that's it, then it's not obvious to me...sorry...any help?

Thanks. Patrick.

Hi Scott...actually I was interested in being able to "personalize" the article itself based on the reader if they were a registered user. So that I could include a phrase like, "Hi Scott", or code a URL hyperlink with the user's ID, e.g., www.mysite.com/go.aspx?userID=[UserID], so that I could track it externally, etc.

This information would actually be embedded into the article content itself and be replaced on-the-fly as it's read by the registered user. Thanks.

Ahh I see! Kind of like a mail merge type functionality.

I can add the tokens for the logged in user to the template, are you also implying that you would like to access this properties embedded in the article or just the template?

Sorry I wasn't clearer earlier...yes, like a mail merge into the article itself using the tokens...obviously any article that included tokens in the article would need to ensure that the user was logged in (or perhaps a token like [[UserID,"<default_if_value_not_available>"]] kind of thing...

If personalization is the rage, then it'd be awesome to do it within the article...great for a sales-type of letter too...my primary purpose is for external link tracking (by user), but I can see there being many uses for this.

Thanks Scott...I really appreciate your expertise. Patrick.

Hi Scott,

This is the exact same type of thing I really wanted to have incorporated as well.  Not only in the articles but in emails from subscribed new releases too.  MagiGadget had a lot of this great functionality in it, but the author is no where to be found and I'm in mourning over it.  I'll email you the help file since it is slightly larger than the macimum allowed attachment for the forum.

I'll see what I can do. I'll add this item to the roadmap.
