Hi Scott,

Great job on the FriendlyURL provider. By far the best re-writer I've seen for DNN.

I did notice a problem in the Admin page when using the File Manager. When you go to expand the folder tree in the left pane, i get an error popup. The page is shown as:

www.mysite.com/Admin/FileManager.aspx

but, the folder tree works fine with the normal url like:

www.mysite.com/Admin/FileManager/tabid/46/Default.aspx

My thought is you may need to disable the url rewriting under host and admin pages, unless you are able to find a solution.

Thanks for your work on this project. Very much appreciated!!

Hmm, I don't get a problem with the treeview, what version of DNN are you using?

I am running DNN 3.2.2 and have Blowery compression enabled. I don't think its a Blowery compression issue as it works with the normal url. I am also on a WSS server with Med trust.

Same here, also running 3.2.2 on w2k3 no Blowery compression.  In file manager there's a +sign next to the portal root folder, but when I click it I get an alert box with "null - null" in it.

I've synchronised database and file system, I've cleared the cache, I've synchronised the database and file system again, but still nothing.  Makes no difference whether logged in as host or admin

I am seeing this in the error log:

Some follow up. I get this error on both of my production installs only for the Admin > File Manager. Host > File Manager works fine.

One of the production install is DNN 3.2.2 the other is DNN 4.0.3

Scott, the 'null - null' I suspect is related to the ClientAPI which is probably also why NukeSyndicate doesn't work with this.

Maybe for host/admin options we should just disable the rewriting ?

I actually don't get a problem on this site though.

If the problem is ClientAPI, then disabling admin/host rewriting won't truly solve the problem. If anyone uses DNNTree somewhere else, for instance, this would rear it's ugly head again. For instance, I use DNNTree in one of my modules.

I'm still trying to work this one out:-

* This site works OK, a single portal with a portal alias of www.ventrian.com (DNN 3.2.2)

* Local site, a single portal with a portal alias of localhost/dotnetnuke (DNN 3.3 Beta)

Just about to test a local site with DNN 3.1 and a portal alias of localhost/dotnetnuke311

Works OK on 3.1.1 using localhost/dotnetnuke311

Any tips on reproducing? I'm using WinXP, IIS 5, SQL 2000

I've got it on localhost/dotnetnuke with 3.2.2 and am getting the error. I can try it local on 3.2.6, if you want. I'm also trying to setup 3.2.6 on W2K3, so I can test that out, if you want.

I was wondering if anyone has figured this out yet. I found a workaround of making 2 different web.config files but it makes it difficult to switch back when I need to work in the file manager.

Thanks

I haven't had time to go back and investigate, an easy fix I could implement in the short-term would be to exclude all admin pages from rewriting.

This does not solve the problem where other modules use things as the treeview.

It's wierd though, because it doesn't happen on all instances. e.g. it works OK on this site.

Hi Scott,

That would even work, I just need to make sure the admins can use the site even when the mod is installed.

I look forward to the temporary fix.

Thanks
Rick

Since my first post, i have upgraded my site to 3.3.1 and this is now resolved for me. Scott's friendly url provider works great on my site, including the admin file manager. No more error when expanding the folder.
