Scott and fellow Paypal subscription users, i have been racking my brain and my Techs for over two days anow, and we are still puzzled on why we can't get paypal to successfully upgrade a subscription role in DNN. Below is our problem which seems very common, but nobody seems to have the answers as we have scoured almost every forum and MB.

I am currently starting up a new portal that will be using DNN v3.1.0 and I would like to use Paypal to setup one time subscriptions for users. I just got through reading your saga on the ASP.net forum and I have the exact same problem you were having with the roles not being upgraded after a successful purchase.

If you could shed any light in this territory or point me in the right direction i would be much obliged. I hope to hear back from you soon.

Hi Matt,

Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy week.

Can you list the type of subscriptions you are trying to setup? I think people have had some issues when using the demo-signup.

My subscriptions are just like $35 for 1 year, or $20 for 3 months with no other options selected. You seem to be getting the first notification just not renewal, so you are at least getting the first step done.

Scott,

Thanks for getting back to me. Here is the subscription I am trying to setup.

Classic_PPV

Pay Per View access to the 2005 Oswego Classic Watch LIVE Video of every race from September 1st-September 4th from the famed 5/8 mile oval at Oswego Speedway in Oswego, NY. Purchase the entire weekend for just $11.99.

11.99 1 Month(s)   True False

This is a one-time PPV event that takes place and I would like people to purchase it early as well as the day of. When setting this up originally as a one time fee, DNN threw up an error when clicking subscribe to get to Paypal. We now get as far as completing the purchase, but need the IPN return info or whatever DNN core page for Paypal needs to be updated or linked to.

Let me know and I appreciatte your time.

Matt Thomas

Hi Scott,

I too have an account with WebSecureStores and seem to be getting problems with PayPal IPN. Did you have to request WebsecureStores to make a change to fix the problems you had or was it something else that you did to get it working?

Thanks

Mark

I would like to receive your thoughts on the suitability, performance and reliability of PayPal, both from site admin and user, and that it could be successfully applied in a situation where there is an immediate pay-per-view or pay-per-download in addition (or as an alternative) to subscription based fees.

My client has also requested WorldPay integration.  Any thoughts?

I've never used World Pay, but paypal has been relatively painless. (2checkout has been a lot more difficult though)
