Can somebody tell me how to change the drop down list in feedback to say something like "topics" rather than "products". I am putting a site together which deals with different areas of marketing rather than products. cheers Tom

The dropdown list label can be modified in the hereafter file:

Search.ascx.resx located in: \DesktopModules\FeedbackCenter\App_LocalResources

Regarding the contents of the dropdown list you manage them with the module menu "Edit products". I've translated the menu in french and I don't remember if the original label was "Edit products" but it should be something like that.

Cheers,

Bertrand.

Along the same lines, the description in the "make a suggestion box" is specific to software... it would be beautiful if some of these elements could be made into [TOKENS], or something, so that they could be more easily adapted to different user environments.

BTW- I have scoured the files for where this suggestion-description exists.
Where is it ?

I was afraid you were going to say that... The problem is, I am like a bull in a china shop once I get down to that level: me and my VWD hacking skillz are just trouble looking for a place to happen.

I have seen the "products"  tag in numerous locations as suggested earlier in the thread, and am on my way towards replacing that to say  "Category" or "Item" or something, but still cannot find the "make a suggestion" paragraph...

Maybe this cannot be done with my 'Visual Web Developer Amateur Internet Exploder Kit'...

No hacking required, it can be done through the dotnetnuke screens in HOST -> LANGUAGES -> LANGUAGE EDITOR -> LANGUAGE EDITOR

This text is not localized. You need to edit the search.ascx. The result can be seen here http://www.smallbizserver.net/Default.aspx?tabid=290

Yup, saw that Mariette- it was my inspiration.

I did not know I could edit the ASCX file with the Windows NOTEPAD... it was opening in Visual Web Developer, and causing me grief.

It is perfect now.

You're a gem, Mariette- thanks for the help!
