I've got a suggestion, because I really love this module and it's functions. 

I've got customers who would love to have a simple Product Catalog, and Simple Gallery is ALMOST THERE.  You have Categories (Albums), Catalog (Thumbs) and Detail Functionality.  You can use DNN search on it, and it gives back results. 

It really is only one step away from being functional as a Product Category.  If there was a very simple, add or add to cart function, with a simple cart for MORE INFORMATION or GET A QUOTE, it would be awesome.  I'm not talking about full e-commerce, just a simple Product Catalog.

I think if custom properties were brought in then this would work OK. The only tricky part would be the cart which would probably have to be 3rd party.

Custom Properties would be a while off, as there is already a long list of enhancements in the pipeline.
