Hi, I've been looking through the forum and resources and I can't find a explanation of public albums. Can anyone point me to the documentation or tell me what exactly they do? Is it for visibility or maintenance of albums? Many thanks,

It's for visiblity. Think of the module settings as your global visibility setting and the "Public" settings as per album. This allows the administrator to create the albums and expose them to the "Gallery" as they are ready.
