So I have a 6+GB worth of images (3000+ images spanning 20 directories) zip'ed up in a file.

I have direct access to the file system on the web server so I can drop it anywhere (zipped or unzipped) right on the file system.

What I started out by doing was creating new Albums (one for each folder), placing the images in the gallery folder and then doing a DB Sync However I am getting Out of Memory exceptions.  These images can be 3+Meg's each.  About  6 or 7 images will be placed in the gallery before I get the OME.  In addition the images do not get resized on DB Sync.  (After looking at the forums, that new resizing option look promising!)

I REALLY do not want to have to put in each image one by one...

Thoughts?

Hmm, the DB Sync should work, but I think that out of memory exception is something to do with the reading the image. Currently a sync does not resize the images, I'll add this functionality this week though (an extra option to the resynch functionality).

Do you have the sample images anywhere (just a few images) so I could test the synch out on them? I have been having a problem on a particular type of image.

I am glad to hear that resize option will be going in soon! hehe

If you could pvt msg me an FTP location I will be glad to ship some sample images to you.

Btw, my configuration is:

Dell SC420 1GM Ram, P4 2.8GHz and over 50G of free HDD space...  The hardware I would hope is not the issue.    The server is running MS Small Business Server w/ Exchange, IIS, ISA && a bunch-o-other small services.

Hey there Scott!

I was just wondering how things are going on the new release?

Is there anything that I can do to help out?

I've just posted a new release, let me know if it works. It might be a problem with the type of images, are you able to send me one for testing? (smcculloch@iinet.net.au)

Hi,
Hi,
I use upload and sync to populate my galleries.
One issue, the gallery folder is not created until the first image is added - this is a bit of a drag as it means that I have to manually ad one photo before copying and sync'ing the rest.

Do you do the same or is their a way round it?

I think you are right, it should create the folder when it creates the gallery, I'll see if I can add it in next week..
