Hi All,

Has anybody ever come across the message "An error has occurred. File limit exceeded on portal." ? I have attached a screenshot to show the error.

How do you change the portal file limit?

The image I'm trying to upload is a 1.9MB JPG file. I can't see why its failing with such a low size...

My web.config looks like this:

The web.config excerpt didn't show as it contained tags, so here are the attributes of the httpRuntime section:

useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="8192" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" executionTimeout="300"

I think that error has more to do with the DiskSpace quota that is set under HOST --> PORTALS --> Portal Settings --> Host Settings.

Make sure it isn't set to "0", which is the default.

Hi thegoldwater,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I updated SimpleGallery to the most recent version, and now it doesn't give me that error, it just sits on "Processing image..." forever.

I tried setting the Disk Space quota to 350000 (350GB) and I still have it sit on "Processing image..." forver. Incidentally, the default "0" is for unlimited quota.

To rule out my web hosting company as a potential problem, I managed to use a file upload utility that I wrote myself to successfully upload the same file to my webspace.

Here are the images that show the successful upload using my own file upload utility.

Is your site online so I can take a look? (support@ventrian.com)

Hi Simon,

Did you manage to reproduce the problem yet?

Adam

I am still experiencing problems uploading images. I quite often get Simple Gallery hang after the photo is uploaded, it just sits there saying
"Processing image..." and never recovers.

This usually happens with native photos from my Canon IXUS 950IS. If I use a tool to batch resize the images to 800x600 then I don't seem to have the same problem. Maybe your image resize routine doesn't like the JPEG images produced by my camera?

I have uploaded an original picture that I have taken with my camera to http://www.beastlings.com/images/IMG_1805.JPG - please can you try uploading this image to a Simple Gallery installation, it simply doesn't work for me!

Thanks,
Adam

It works for me on my development environment.

Make sure you have adequare portal quota for your site and you are using the latest release.

There was a bug with the portal quota, but that was fixed in a later release, maybe that is what you are experiencing?
