Hi,

I am new with simple gallery. When I add a photo to my newly created album, it said:

"SWFUpload has not loaded. It may take a few moments. SWFUpload requires JavaScript and Flash Player 8 or later "

Can you help me?

Thanks

Marbab, does the button load at all? Do you have additional PCs you can test it on?

I'm trying to work out where the issue is, does the demo page on this site work for you? Are you able to upload photos? This will tell us if its a browser issue or something else.

The demo page is here.

In my office i have windows 2003 server installed and internet connectivity is available. Simple Gallery module is working absolutely fine here (with IE 7). But at my home Windows XP is installed.

At my home PC I have installed macromedia flash 8 professioanl. I have installed flash player with addin. And I am using default internet explorer for browsing. Even then get the same error.

Property Agent module is working absolutely fine, but get this problem only with simple gallery module.

I also wana ask dat is it possible that user get both the options, either user can upload single pictures (in a classical way) or by using flash (as we are doing).

i don't have internet access at my home, I am working on it and will get it in a week.

hi scott.

FYI:

I found this post. from the entering the error below.

SWFUpload has not loaded. It may take a few moments. SWFUpload requires JavaScript and Flash Player 8 or later.

this error does not happen in I.e.  for me.  but does occur in firefox.

Firefox  2.0.0.11

i.e. 7  ....13

I just resolved an issue for a customer on webhost4life, the reason was a script file was blocked on the server. I don't think that is the issue here.

I'm wondering if your firefox flash integration is not working properly?

I have this issue as well, only on Firefox/2.0.0.12. Has anyone resolved this?

Thanks

Ok, I have updated the flash player to 9 and the upload button now works in firefox. I have a new issue now with trying to upload a photo on my localhost. I can select an image to upload but when I click OK it pops up a username and password box asking me for my database User aand pass? If I enter these the browser hangs. This is in IE and FF. Have I not set the correct permissions for the database maybe. Its a fresh install of DNN 4.8 and Simple Gallery 02.03.04

I am having the same problem with "SWFUpload has not loaded" and suspect it may be a timing issue. Sometimes the error flashes just as the "Select Image" button displays. After clicking next is it waiting long enough for SWFUpload to actually load?

I am using a beefy machine and sometimes it fails. On a lower spec machine it always fails.

It doesn't seem to matter if I use FF or IE7 the problem exists with both.

Edit: FYI the latest flash and java have just been installed but the problem still exists.

I am having the same problem with can't upload images, but on IE and Firefox.

On one machine it works fine, but on another, it doesn't. On the machine where it doesn't work, there is a small difference in the error for each browser. With IE, after selecting an image to upload, I only get the message " and error has occured".   I then tried to upload with Firefox on this same machine, and instead of getting the button to upload pictures, you get the message as above that SWFUpload had not loaded. I am just guessing that the error is the same for both browsers.

Since it works fine on other machines, I must assume it is some conflict locally but I am struggling to find it. Upload was working in the past, but stopped just recently (don't know what changed except for windows updates). I am using Win xp pro, with IE7, and have all the latest windows updates.

After posting the above, I did a little more research which should have been done before posting. For IE, I went under tools and manage plugins, and reinstalled the flash plugin. This solved the problem for IE. Firefox is an older version, so I suspect an upgrade will fix that problem also.

All is good :)

I am still following this post.  I did uninstall and reinstall firefox yesterday for other reasons.  the web developers plug in.  so i tried this again with a fresh browser.

I still have the same message....  as i stated above about javascript.  But hold on.

I did notice that when I got the last step of the wizard the tagging and batch part I clicked the browsers back button and it went back to step three and  the select images but was there.

I got the button that says select images i closed the browser and reopened it and cannot get error anymore.

I just reinstalled Fire fox.   2.0.0.09

Do you have other module on the page, like google video or youtube or something else ?
I recently have a problem with YouTube video and had an error message with flash. If I put the module BEFORE the youtube one, no more problem (currently Mandeep for LiveContent module is investigating, because it is affected). Maybe it's the same with this module ? Sorry, I can not do the test. But tell us if your module is alone on the page or not.

I am having the same problem. I am hosting a site on webhost4life and having the problem on that site. However, on my personal (testing/development site) I do not have the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Hans

Scott,

I just started using Simple Gallery on WebHost4ife and am not able to upload an iage on a new page.  I get the SWFUpload errot mentioned in this forum.

However, I also noted that I am getting the following entry in the Events Log, along with a whole bunch of others that have to do with the Media module, that is also experiencing an issue.  However, I can upload an image using the media module.

Here is the full log entry.

EventQueue.ProcessMessage: Message Processing Failed
ProcessorType: DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.EventMessageProcessor, DotNetNuke
Body:
Sender:
BusinessControllerClass: Ventrian.SimpleGallery.Entities.TagController, Ventrian.SimpleGallery
DesktopModuleId: 84
UpgradeVersionsList: 02.03.05
ExceptionMessage: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Server Name: DEDI560

Two questions:

a. Does this event message error have anything to do with the image upload.

b. What is this error and how can it be fixed.

I can send you the entire string of log entries ifyou wish.

Thanks,

Hans

Hans, I have sent you an email already discussing this issue.

I really need access to examine what is going on.
