Curious if you ever had the chance to use Magic Gadget from Magic Modules?  Unfortunately the author is no longer responding to his emails and the site is down.  I believe he had an illness and am not sure of what became of him.  It did a lot of customized content based upon roles, but also much much more.  Within the same module you could screen scrape from other sites, direct content to users or roles  and even do SQL query's.  A very powerful module tat I would love to see implemented in DNN 3.  Apparently Speerio has proimised to include Magic Gadget functionality in their upcoming NukeHTML whish is bundled with some of their new products, but I haven't seen it yet. 

Do you anticipate offering something similar here?
