Is there a way to edit this text?  That appears when I'm at the sub module and not registered...

Yes, you should be able to edit via the resx editor.

In host -> languages -> language editor, you will be looking for the subscription folder in Local Resources -> Desktop Modules

The file you are looking for is SignupRegister.ascx.resx and the entry is Message.Text
