Hi,
I have recently purchased the subscription module which is working great but I have a problem with DNN I was hoping someone could help with. I have the signup module on a page called members (which is a parent tab), and once they signup with PayPal and return to the website users are added into the role successfully and can see their subscription status which is great.
The problem is that I have two child tabs that are only visible to members, but once they come back from PayPal and are added into the member role the child tabs are not visible. However, if the user logs out then comes back in to the website the child tabs are visible.
Is this a DNN caching issue (I am using DNN 4.0.3), a bug, or am I missing something that is very obvious? I can replicate this easily on my local test machine if I login as an Admin on 1 browser window then login as a registered user in another browser window and add that user into the Admin role (the admin tab is not visible to the registered user until they logout and log back in). I thought that DNN role assignment from a database would be immediate, but obviously not :) Also, it is interesting that if you delete a user from a role this change is immediate.
Can anyone offer advice on this? Any help with this issue is much appreciated.
Thanks |

| I have instructed in the mail the users get after subscribing that they need to logoff and logon again. What you see is caused by the cookie the user gets. |

Hmm, I'm wondering if I can make the "ReturnUrl" be a page that removes the role cookie, and then does a redirect to where you should be going.
This (I think), would fix the problem? |

That would be great Scott. I just think it's a bit confusing and inconvenient for users to have to logout to get access to subscriber content once they have subscribed.
Also, I'm 99% sure that when I joined this site I didn't have to logout and login to get access to subscriber content such as downloads. Is this correct Scott? If so, what version of DNN does this site use or how are you doing this?
Thanks |

| Hmm, I'm using 3.1.1, perhaps the role issue happened later, I do have some problems *sometimes*, but it seems to be due to active forums. |

Ok, I might try some tests using DNN 3.1.1. Or is it possible to implement something in the next version of Subscription Tools like what you have mentioned above (quoted) that would fix this problem for DNN 4???
Thanks |

| I'm using 3.1.1 and I'm experiencing this issue too. I tell the users to refresh. |

| I'll see what I can do about clearing the roles on the return. |

Hi Scott, any updates on this?
I did a bit more testing, and DNN 3.0.11 worked fine but it seems 3.1 and higher have the role problem. Don't know if this helps or not .
Thanks |

I don't get the role issue when I have my browser set to always check for new version of a page on each request.
Or when I use shift-refresh.
I have however, just added into a new build (soon to be released), something that will clear the role when it is sent back from PayPal. |

| Yes, clearing the cookies was included in a previous release. |

Hi,
Any ideas why my users have to log out and in again - could it be something else?
Thanks
Marc. |

| What version of DNN are you using? I could not get this working with DNN 4.x.x at all, but I am using the latest Subscription Tools version on DNN 3.1.1 and it works great. |
