hi,

i use your subsruiption tool on you website. the problem is, if the default language of the user ist english, everthing works fine.

when the user has e.g as default language german, this error is written by paypal:

"The link you have used to enter the PayPal system contains an incorrectly formatted item amount."

Here is the Link:

https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/xclick/business=nikolaus.gentner-esch%40nge-consulting.de&item_name=DoooX+-+Studenten+(+49%2c00+%e2%82%ac+for+1+Year(s)+access.+)&item_number=3&no_shipping=1&no_note=1&quantity=1&amount=49%2c00&currency_code=EUR&custom=3%2cFalse&return=http%3a//intern.dooox.de/DoooX/Test/tabid/159/signupType/Details/Pending/True/Default.aspx&cancel_return=http%3a//intern.dooox.de/DoooX/Test/tabid/159/signupType/Details/Default.aspx&notify_url=http%3a//intern.dooox.de/DesktopModules/SubscriptionSignup/Tools/IPNHandler.aspx&sra=1

i think the proble is the wrong formatting of the currency:

german: 49,00
english: 49.00

what can i do to solve this problem?

greetings from germany
stefan huber

Yes, I'm aware of a problem when the PayPal is account is in format other then USD, the currency code is EUR, should this be seperated by a comma? (49,00) ?

Your PayPal account accepts Euro's by default? And your portal is in what locale? (German?)

This was fixed up in a previous release, does it work for you now?

It's not working for me with the current release. Using german and euros as well. The amount in the url is 49,00 while it is supposed to be 49.00 obviously, at least that's an amount Paypal would accept

Cheers, Philipp

Don't know why it would accept 49.00 - maybe a paypal accout setting?

I doublechecked... My Paypal Account is German, default currency in the account is German, Portal Language is German as well. It would still not acceppt 49,00 but 49.00. Very strange

Cheers, Philipp

It currently uses the current locale to format the currency, and it's doing this when sending it the PayPal, the reason for the comma, I'll remove this in the next release.

Are you using the latest release? It no longer formats as a currency, just a decimal.

Just got the latest release, still an issue for me. The paypal link formats as ....amount=128,00... If I replace the "," by a "." the link is working

Cheers, Philipp

Hmm, here is the format expression:-

&amount=" & Format(serviceFee, "#####0.00")

I thought that was a decimal format.. I'll run a test in another locale..

Found the solution:-

Dim enFormat As System.Globalization.CultureInfo = New System.Globalization.CultureInfo("en-US")
Dim strService As String = String.Format(enFormat.NumberFormat, "{0:#####0.00}", objRole.ServiceFee)

It will be in the next release along with some other nice features..
