Scott,

There is a rumor that you are working on a real estate module.  If this is true I would be very interested in seeing a demo as well as discussing pricing.  I have a client that wants a real estate module asap and the only one I've seen so far is dotnetjedi's, I'd like to see what my options are.

Thanks!

Mike

Yes, the rumours are true.

You can see the module for DNN 1.x here.

Although, the module I am working on will look very different.

Hi Scott

A client has just given me a brief inc graphics which is essentially the same functionality as your DNN1.x version.

Can I buy it still.

I do have a copy of it, it only works for 1.10, it will not upgrade to the later version when released as the code base is considerably different. If your a subscriber to this site I can send it to you..

The good news is that today was my last day at work, this site is going to receive my full time attention for the next month or so. (meaning that estate agent for 3.x will be out soon)

Hi Scott,

Any news about the new DNN3 Real Estate Agent? Do you think you will publish a release in August?

Thanks again for your great modules.

Bertrand.

Regarding Real estate, do you have a list of the features that will be included and do you keep targetting a first release in the comming days?

I think this module could also be used for car dealers, recruiting agencies, ... .

Ah, and thats where I have the problem, when I wrote the first module, it was particular to the real estate agent market, so the database was designed around that. When you start adding custom fields it makes it a little difficult to efficiently search etc. I'm working on a way around this, unless no-one knows a good method?

This module in mambo does all kinds of applications:-

http://www.mosets.com/hot_property/overview/hot_property/

It sort of does them via a directory list, but still allows you a custom search. I'm tempted to buy the module just to see how it does it.

Thanks for your reply Scott. Other markets was just an idea but not a real demand.

What about a list of the features that will be included in real estate and do you keep targetting a first release in the comming days?

One of my friend as launched a real estate company near Paris few weeks ago and asked me if I could build his site (I'm usually working in industry for intranet portals). I'll meet him tomorrow and I would like to give him an idea of the 1st release (date or week).

Do you have a target?

Thanks,

Bertrand.

Hi Leif,

Not much progress yet, I had designed the custom field section, but have been held up on a few support issues that needed taking care of. I am getting more into the swing of things this week though.

Hello Scott,

Could you give some news about Real Estate module?

As soon as you will post the first release I would be pleased to work as a tester and use it for my friend's web site I've mentionned before. He agrees to wait for this first release.

I think this could be a good test in production and we should receive good feedbacks from him (he's not a it guy so I think his comments will be really user oriented).

I've ended the french localization of you modules. I still have to check if all the "menus" are localized (view options, ...) . Do you want me to send you the files and how would be the best?

Thanks,

Bertrand.

Hi Leif,

I've already translated the following modules:

  • Feedback Center
  • News Articles
  • Private Messages
  • Quotes
  • Shout Box
  • Child links
  • Simple Gallery (random image module included)

I'll translate Subscription Status and Where Are They modules by beginning of next week.

As I work only with french language I've translated the .ascx.resx files directly without creating fr-FR files but it's not a real problem to reuse my translations.

As I mentionned I've some minor checks to do before supplying these translation. Everything should be ready next week. I'll zip the .ascx.resx files in sub folders with modules names and make them available on my web site. As soon as it will be ready I'll email you and Scott the info and a link.

Bertrand.

Only ascx.resx files will be available, for you and Leif. Of course the modules and sources are not and will not be available for download for anyone in order to respect your work.

Bertrand.

Will it be possible to use this module for selling other objects than real-estate? For example cars?

I'm almost over the next round of changes to news articles, simple gallery and private messages. Then I'll be working on the real estate mod.

Yes, I've already done the table design and it will support custom fields so it could be anything really.

Hey Scott,

I wasn't sure if any of the delay related to the real estate module had to do with too few requests, so I thought I'd add one to the pile.

Even though I got a little involved in the discussions for simple gallery, the real reason I got to your site in the first place was through google searches for DNN & real estate modules.  This is the biggest reason I signed up.  I was happy to see the new release was being worked on a while back.

So I thought I'd add my request and say that I too am really, really looking forward to working with this module.

Thanks for all your great work,
Scott

Things are being worked on, I actually wrote Simple Gallery to work out how to best handle images for the estate agent module.

The last few day or so I've been working on the last of the blogging type functionality for news articles and the implementation of subscription tools. (I'm really keen to get rid of the paypal subscriptions and just have pay as you go).

Thanks for registering your interest, it helps to prioritize!
