Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever tried to bulk import users into their DNN app from the database (using the available sprocs)?

I know there's a 3rd party app by UCanUse, but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience otherwise. I'd like to know what sprocs to use since there seems to be so many (profile, user, aspnet_user, ???)

Thanks,

Rose

You need to be careful here, because the user data is held in 2 places, the users table in DNN and the aspnet_ tables..

If you are a developer, I would suggest using the API inside DNN to add users rather then direct entry into the DB.

Rose,

You can use Bulk User Manager 2.0. by PHD which is available from Snowcovered:

http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=5035&search=&pagenumber=0&sortby=&tagid=

I was able to import nearly 3000 users for which I am moving over from a PhP base forum.

I am having a user sync module developed and it will be out soon if you want to keep your data in 2 places.
