I have been playing with Active Social, and like their current Site activity feed on the home page... but I am not interested in seeing activity at the user level - such as so and so left a comment etc. I am very interested in a way to display the latest everything on a higher level though - I use 2 instances of new articles, and one Property manager. I already would like to make a twitter entry each time an article or property is added. Even better would be to then pull down the tweets as a site activity feed on the website.

I think that this would kill 2 birds with one stone - if each of the ventrian modules had a twitter integration, then not only could you have a tweet go out each time you did something - new article, new album, new property - you could also turn around and use those tweets as an activity feed on your site. This feed would then be able to show other non ventrian feeds in the same feed. Maybe even other module builders would do the same thing, and wala - you have a killer site activity feed.

As it is now, I have to have multiple different latest things to show what is new. Or, i have to add in a new forum post every time i do anything. Either way, adding in a tweet is a full nother step on top of that.

I haven't had much experience with twitter, would you configure news articles to post to a particular twitter account where the username/password is previously stored in settings?

Yep - as far as i know it is pretty simple - there would be a Admin setting for enabling it and collecting the user/password, and then when you create an article there would be a text box that would be limited to the 150 characters or whatever.

i suppose the tricky part would be timing - what if someone creates an article but sets the publish date to a future date... I would want to say the tweet happens when the article is published if that was possible. Though that seems complicated. We normally publish immediately so I'm not sure I care too much about this.
