With the venture skin, you don't need "MENU" so you don't need to download spmenu.js

However in the container, you need "ACTIONS" which DOES load spmenu.js.. which is 71k.... and I hit that bug where when it's not fully loaded, but I mouse over the "ACTIONS" dropdown, I get an error.  I'm on a 100MB LAN too when it happens.

A Skin Object to replace ACTIONS would be fantastic.  Be able to fully get rid of spmenu.js and that error message for good!

That sounds like a fantastic idea!

How do you want the links? Just hyperlinks similar to maybe the links at the top, well you could style them the way you want anyway.

My thoughts were just to get rid of the spmenu.js...

So even if the new links looked similar to what's there now, that'd be huge.....

But yea, just re-style em anyway if ya don't like it!

Curious if this is still on the horizon for you Scott?

It is - but i'm not sure where to put the links, since on the majority of modules there are quite a number of links.

Is there any way to get the position of the mouse on the screen (upon clicking the link for the dropdown),  and have it render from those coordinates?

You can get the position, not sure about popping up the menu from the coordinates though, you would have to ask Jon Henning.
