Hi,

My first post, but I think I have a slightly different need than others posted here.  I basically scanned the forum and could not find exactly what I'm in need of.

My clients are Physicians and they have a particular need for them or their office assistants to send messages to one or more patients, but not to allow patients to communicate with anybody other than a Physician or Office Assistant.  I have created three distinct roles, "Physicians", "Office Assistants" and "Patients", and assigned users respectively to these Roles based on their requirement.

Patients should only be able to reply to messages already send to them, or generate messages directly to their Physician or the Physician's assistant.

Here's where it get's a little more complicated.  The notifications should automatically be sent to the patient when a message is received in their box, overriding "Message Preferences".  As well, patients should only receive a customized stripped down message in a forwarded message, and not the original "secure
message.  The "secure" message should only be viewable from the PM module.

Also, as others have expressed, very interested in the ability for Physicians and/or Assistants to be able to send messages to all Patients by Role, or by selected patients by being able to browse a list and check off those they wish to send a message to, say all their diabetics.  The ability to search by categories would be awesome.

I'll stop now.

Anyway, you get the idea.  The Send To search form should either be disabled, or have the ability to reply to the Physician, or perhaps the Physician and Office Assistant together.

I suppose I could modify the source to do all of this, but it would be nice to have a little more granular control over who gets to send messages, and to whom.

For reasons of confidentiality and privacy, we cannot allow patients to see other patients or to send messages to them.  For ease of use, it would be good to have all user's they can send messages to be provided without needing the patient to type a character and search for that person, like the way the PM works now.

Thanks again for a wonderful product.

I think restricting the send roles is a great idea (have you seen the send list?)

This is something I will add in when I add the send to group functionality.

I have just installed Private Messaging and I like it but immediately found the lack of being able to send messages to a group. I also would like to be able to disable by default 'Email Notification' and 'Read Receipt'.

Can you place those suggestions in the feedback centre, i'll be going down that list in february and implementing each of the enhancements that make sense. These 2 definately make sense.

Hi

The quoted message above describes my challenges in a very articulated manner so I allowed myself to quote it instead of rewriting it.

I bolded and underlined the quoted text in this message to focus the discussion since this is an old one and some of the options asked for are already featured.

In my case I deal with insurance agency and need the same as suggested above for the communication between the client and the agent.

Is this possible? I could not find any user guide for the PM, is there any?

I  remember the discussion about the search scope was done before but could not find it, can any one point me to it? Any news about it any way?

Thanks

Yuda

Okay, it might not do everything you need to do, e.g. you cannot filter the list of send recipients or force it to only reply instead of send. These might need to be custom modifications, including only sending to there physician, (how is the module supposed to know who this is?)

You can however send to roles. e.g. in view options ("Allow Roles"), ("Available Roles")

There is a user manual but it does not cover the latest enhancements.

Oh, there is also an enhancement coming where you can customize the outgoing email notification, that should cover your need in the secure message area.

Thanks Scott.

Is there somewhere that clarifies the use of  "Send roles"? If I check a role doesn't Group Notification?

Also is there a solution the the search scope?

Thanks,

Tiram
