I am using Private Messaging on our Family Site. I have integrated Ktomics Chat so that when someone joins the chat a PopUp message in MessageCounter pages lets everyone know. I had to do this since everyone was complaining they didn't know when family members were chatting. I look forward to being able to PM everyone at once!

I have a suggestion for the PM Module..  I did something similar for and ASP forum..

Have a PM link in the area next to the icons for edit, alert, etc...  so that if you click the PM icon, a pop_up pm wondow apears with the subject of the PM something like..

REthen the topic subject here)

Then it would automaticly quote the topic message in the body area.

Then you can choose who you wan to send the PM to.  This way when you see a post of interest and want to PM the author of the post with reference to the post the info is filled in already, you just choose his name which you can still see behind the pop_up window and you do not have to go back and copy and paste or say: "Hey I saw your post..  blah, blah"  With people like Scott who post so much this will always give the extra info needed. And if you want to send it to someone else just choose the name add your comments and off it goes..

I hope you understand my post...

Gene

I understand it, but it depends on the forum module, you can pass a subject into the PM module, but need to get the title of the forum thread to pass in. I think active forums in 3.5 is token based, so this might be possible.

Using Private Messages, and LOVE IT! Also using the SimpleGallery which IMHO is MUCH better than the core. Same functionality, bug free, classy look, and best of all... Easy to use.

Just installed it on http://www.teamstarfire.com

I've also managed to integrate it easily into the core forum module.  Very nice so far.

Thanks!

My website www.wrathofwisdom.org is running Presstopia forums and Private Messages module. Both work great.

I have some feature requests for PrivateMessages, where should I post them?

Thanks for the great job

This is a great enhancement for our Active Forums installation. Site members acknowledge and communicate to each other without cluttering the forum with the social grease messages like "well done" and "thanks". These are very important for community cohesion but not crucial to the intent of the thread. http://www.genratec.com Thanks Scott, Great work.
