Is it possible that user uploaded files are shown under there profile. User can upload and share files. At this time if we allow users to upload files then all files are uploaded under one parent folder, right ? There will be so many files on a singl page. What if user can see uploaded files based on userID. Similaly they can make a file private or public. What do u think of this suggestion ?

Sounds like a good idea - how do other people see files, or do they just see it for themselves?

Users can see their uploaded files (as a logged in user) as well as other users file (by providing UserID). If a file is private then it'll only available to the user who has uploaded that file. By this way File links module will also become a unique social networking module. This will encourage users to upload and share files. Now smart-thinker module is free so you can easily integrate it with that. Imagine a news feed (smart-thinker news feed) saying that your friend has shared a file, you can check it here! I think this will take this module to the next level. Limit is endless then. You can provide a url to the user to share files will others publicly to download (like Rapidshare). Its integration with Amzon S3 will make it an enterprise level solution then. I have shared all what i think can make this a better module. I completely understand that its not that easy. But you can define a road map and complete this in stages like your regular releases. File sharing on a social networking environment will also be unique and very useful experience for a user. Similarly, I think there is not a single module at this time in DNN that can provides feature of rapidshare etc. Please share your thoughts on it.

Hmmm... This could be very very very useful for me if done right. Let me have a proper think about it, and I'll get back to you how I'd love to see it done. ;)

Quotas etc, would also need to be implemented. They see other people's files by viewing other profiles (e.g. user ID in url). This would show public files.
