If it could add folders...  Is there anyway to get this done in the next version?

Add and delete folders, view thumbnails of image files, be able to add, delete and move files, resize images on upload, and follow DNN permissions to boot... all these things in a module would be a god-send for dnn!

And to put the cherry on the cake: As well as using it as a module, it would ideally be able to be used as an Image Gallery in the FCK provider (which as been specifically designed to accept alternate uploaders. Locopon has repeatedly said it's easy to do, but it is of course all beyond me.)

A combo of File Links and the image processing from Simple Gallery is much of the guts already there.

Do you think this would eventually come along in development or would it help if I drummed up some sponsorship? I'd just die to have this aspect of publishing resolved!

These things would be great, even if you just rolled some out one at a time.

... Starting with 'add new folder' ;)
... On to everything that is 'low hanging fruit'

...Ending with FCK integration. I'm really not sure what that buys you... FCK already has a reasonable filemanager for a post editor. If you have the time, I'm all for it... but I would waste too much time on it.

FCK lacks image resizing - In my experience the biggest barrier to image publishing for non-technical people. The FCK gallery also lacks the ability to delete a file, meaning that users have to be given access to an additional file management solution. All of this is counter-productive.

ahhh.. good points.

I have a nightly resizing app that takes care of that for me. However, sometimes FCK does set the image width and height to the original values... therefore my newly resized photos look terrible! :)

Then yes, I agree that would be pretty useful.

I'm stuck on this module one until I get "Add and delete folders"

...is there anyway I can get this one sooner, as we hash out all the details for the remainder of the features?

Any word on if you are going to queue up this feature?

Which feature? The add/delete folders? I might be able to get it done later this week.

Scott, not to push you or anything but, you made it sound as though it was easy.

Has it been implemented?

Thanks,

It is on the todo list - it will be done, I just had a lot to finish up this week including a new module.
