In a future version it would be nice if there was a control for sort order, at least to sort Ascending/Descending. By date and file type would be nice as well, but less of a requirement.

I agree as well, sort order would be a welcome addition. At a minimum if we could sort by filename would nice. Thanks, this is a great module!

I will also throw my comments in about adding the Sort Order. We use this to download files for gaming, and we would love to grab the most recent files at the top.
Hopefully we can add this soon. |

| It lists the files directly from the directory. I can add sort order and publish date fairly easy. |

One of my clients just asked about adding the sort order again, any estimated timeframe on when that change could be implemented? Look forward to it when it becomes available.

I am a guy with a new subscription/membership. I must say I often paid a lot more for a lot less! Wish I was aware of this resource earlier. Simple Gallery is great and File Links is OK.
The Sort Order works well on files but folders are not affected. Any chance of giving us a way of sorting them?
I would go from happy to estatic if you added a few capabilities to File Links; create new folders, description field, a good search, and tagging. It would then be the perfect document manger. Might be easier to mod Simple Gallery as has been recommended in the past.

I deliberately didn't sort folders with files - do you want them sorted as well? I can add an option for it.
How would you add description and tagging to files? Edit each one? |

The ability to sort the folders, if desired, would be great. It would make the File Links program more intuitive for my users. They need things as easy as possible and in a form that they are used to.
As for the description and tags field, I would certainly manually update the individual files. It initially would be a massive nuisance. If available now there would be 1,333 files to edit but is growing fast. Probably would get some users to help. After the intitial pain, mainitainence would be a piece of cake!

Right but the folders should sort at the top just like Windows Explorer all users are used to. |

Yes the sort order for folders is required, as dnner says it should look like windows explorer.

Hi Rick,
You can pick the sort order in settings, but it will always put the folders at the top, this is by design currently. |

I am selecting the sort order in the settings, along with the display folders option. But. even though I select sort ascending, only the files sort in ascending order - the folders do appear at the top, but they are in descending order, not ascending like the files.
