This is the first time I've used this module (great module by the way) and I'm having an issue with the list of files getting cached and displaying even after they've been deleted and new ones placed in the folder. A recursive synch in File Manager corrects this, but I was hoping to use this to display a set of files that routinely gets updated by an FTP service, outside of DNN's file management.
Any way around this issue for me?
Thanks,
Jeff |

The module uses the DNN list of files, so unless you force the recursive update, you won't see them. I could put an admin option so that it reports on the file system as opposed to the DNN file manager list of files. |

That would work in my case, and it might help if files/folders outside the DNN hierarchy could be used. A wish list item for your next version, not an urgent need.
Thanks

This module is (could be) very useful.
The big advantage using this module )i think) is that you can fill a directory "from behind" and the module is showing the files. GREAT!!! BUT! unless you manually synchronize the filesystem the files does not show up. Very disappointing :-)
Please change this "feature".

I believe it's an issue with how you are uploading the files, how are you putting them up there? If you are using the DNN file manager, it should populate the database with what files are there. There is also a scheduled job that if enabled auto-synch's the files. The reason for using the database, is that files data is cached and you can use file permissions. |

OK! It works when the auto sync job is finished. So there will be a slight delay. Just a few question to wrap it up. 1. Whats the difference between autosync option in the settings page and the job in the schedule? 2. Do you know how much resources the sync job is taking. Whats a reasonable setting? Regards Mike |

1. Nothing, it's the same code, one just automatically happens in the background though. 2. Depends on the number of files, shouldn't take many resources. |

Just joined Ventrain site (Gold Member) and VERY new to DontNetNuke (so take pity!). When I added this module to my DNN site I don't seem to be able to set the folder from where the files are to be stored and viewed - just root and templates show up? I would hope to be able to create a new, empty "root" folder and start populating it with appropriate content. Am I missing something? Probably, because I am very new to this whole world. I am a network administrator trying to use DNN 4.x for an Intranet site... Any help would be appreciated, and like I said earlier, have pity! Thanks all, - Joe |

Hi Joe, You can't create folders from within the module yet - you will need to do this in the file manager |
