A very plain template. You may need to work with the Listing.Featured and Listing.Item template to get the image right. I use friendly url's and just put the images in the root installation directory. Let me know if you have any problems.
Scott, feel free to include with any future distributions |

| You will need to put the images in your portal root directory if you plan to use the "out of the box" template If not you can hard code the images |

Hey, maybe it's time to install a resource directory of a repository

I could make great use of a categories tag as well.
I'm doing an online newspaper of sorts, with News, Editorials, Letters to the Editor... that kind of thing. It turns out that if I display a what's new type of listing, I have to display them on three clearly marked modules or it's unclear if the reader is opening a real News Item or a "Letter to the Editor". I wanted to display a mix of all categories in a top10 type of thing, but the chances of a reader not being able to distinguish reader opinions from factual news was too great a risk to implement.
A simple Categories tag could solve the whole problem. |

Yep, it would have to be [CATEGORIES] and then display a comma delimited list of categories?
e.g. News, Sport, Weather, etc
Would you also want them hyperlinked?

I think your right about the resource directory, I'll see
what I can do. You should be able to attach now though, the new
security matrix for AF 3.0 required some extra permissions set
explicitly.

It will be even better if they will be hyperlinked also! |

By the way, what templates are you using people?
I want to get some ideas before making a new template for an online newspaper |

Here's an example of how I handled the Categories issue:
http://idahohealthcareforall.org/Information/Articles/tabid/190/Default.aspx
You'll also notice how I have the category in a large font at the top
of each category listing page. To do this I had to edit the ucCategoryView.ascx and ucNewsListing.ascx pages.

It might be nice if the categories came in a seperate module so that
they could be set up like I have mine (which I have to hard code).

That's really good Wylie.
I also wanted to be able to hide the header (Current Articles | Categories | Search  and footer (Article List page 1 of 2) if it is possible because i am having many News Article Modules on several tabs and looks not so good if on the top and below of each module are visible the header and footer. |
