Hello all,
Hello Scott,
There are many new blog modules on the market (WordPress and Joomla, even some DN) that have very sweet calendars displaying events. I was wondering if we could have something like that with news Article ? Scott, don't you think this could be a nice feature ?

The events calendar and registration module by InvenManager is pretty sweet. I don't think they have a tiny little calendar control like that, but the developer is pretty responsive. Are you looking for a little calendar control for showing dates that articles are published or an actual events calendar module? |

| It sounds like a good idea for a companion module to implement, is that calendar in the image how you want it implemented? |

Hi Scott ! In my dreams... :)... this child module would just indicates which date there is something published. You can see in above image, the 9th is another color showing an article existing that day. Other wish would be that in mouse over the summary would happen in option. Don't know the work behind wishes but I seriously think would be a great progress for News Article module :) Keep us in touch Scott ! And thanks for considering... CHeers |

| MM I dotn see why you cannot do this with NA latest alone. I remember doing this for a client a while ago I will have a look to see if its easily detachable form the original setup |

Yes I have the need for NA output to look like a Calendar as well. Whether one creates a Template for it or create a layout using Latest that looks like the Calender above would be nice indeed. I think it could be done - built into NA. Have a category called Event and then display content via Filter - "Event".
It's the styling of the calendar that would be trickly. I'd have NFI clue how to do that.
Perhaps if this becomes available - there can be some stock stnadard built in calendar templates or Members can post their code here.
Thanks,
Dan |

Well styling it is not the issue. I have done timeline displays uing NA the biggest problem is that if we do it as is whith the latest NA we can always tempalte it but in order to do that you need to have an article ifor every day or the day wotn display. So If I would to do it now than i have to put a palceholder article for every day one by hand or sql. So then in the template i would check if tis the dummy article and if it is dot display this as an event Another option would be to render a quick link with element that have date of there class and use a jquery calendar and then some jquery sript to add those events to the jquery calendar display using appendTo or something But Scott it would be nice have a Calendar helping module And as you know of course should be 100% templatable ;) |
