Hi,
I'd like to send a notification to my all Registered Users (or any other User's Role) while a new articles is published. At the moment I send manually emails from Admin -> Newsletters making a copy-past from the last article to the body of the email.
There is a way to make this automatically?

It would be nice if it would auto generate a newsletter, and send the last 1 week of articles that have been submitted.
Possibly also add the ability for a template structure for the newsletter, and have an opt-in option, for users to be added to the newsletter.
If this was added, I believe it could add extensive flexibility. |

I was just searching for this...
This would really be a MUST HAVE thing in this module... I've just check the new release thread and it seems this is still not in the list :|
Is there any other alternative to feedburner? Its out of my budget at the moment, and I really need this in one website, like for yesterday :| |

You're right I made a confusion while I was reading another topic, sorry!
I will have a look at how to set up feedbunner with news articles, if its so easy has you say, then I guess this is the way to go for now...
But I still thing a newslleter system is something this module should have, I mean I'm a DNN newsbie... but I've been used to have the "Send Headline News by email" or "email notification to roles: " somewhere in any other asp.net or php blog/news system!

Hum... I've tried this...
But there's some stuff I can't seem to understand...
I can add a link to my site so users can subscribe to the newsletter (I'm using the last 25 articles has the RSS source), but I can't add the current users I have... I would like to manage the subscriptions in DNN it self... like a role that already exists!
This those seem to allow me to do that!
Also even if I had the button, It would be in english or PT-BR... I can add my own language? PT-pt is what I want and not Pt-BR.... |

You are right, it's not possible to add some users (because this is prohibited by the law, you can not force someone to receive email if they do not want to !!! You need an action of the user himself... Hopefully).
If you have few users, no problem with having a module which send emails. But as soon as you have hundreds and thousands of user, your provider is probably limiting you (maybe you are not even aware of it), by restricting the number of email you can send each hour... That's why Feedburner is great and on my side, I find it as the best one currently...
Concerning the button, everything can be localised, have a look to my english and french webpage (subscribe to newsletterenglish --> http://declic-video-fx.com/language/fr-FR/RSS-Newsletter.aspx )
You can do it the way you want, and localise text as well.

Axon currently has the ability to grab content from your site include it in an email. All you need is create a latest news with the appropriate criteria and allow Axon to include that in its next campaign. |

Its not Illegal because its managed by the site... the users subscribe to the newsletter in hte registration and can change that any time.
Also the DNN newsletter module it self doesn't send all the emails at once... if this settings was applied to News Articles this would also need to be taken in concern..
But all of that is OBVIOUS!
About the localizaton yes you have it for EN FR ES PT-br not pt-pt and I can not change everything in the html, for example this:
http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=dvfx-news-en&loc=en_US
you can only change the "Your Email Address"... the text bellow is auto generated.
So you see for me this is really not an option!
Also the emails are sent at a certain time and not when the news article is created... the site admin won't like that.
This would work great to manage public newsletter subscriptions... but makes no sense when its a site where you register, and agree to receive any news updates!
I thank you for the suggestion but unless I'm missing something this is not a good solution. |
