I just had an idea. It'll be great, like property agent, News article moudule should be integrated with google maps....Users can find the post authors on the map as well..... what u ppl think abot it ?

Yes, it'll be a really nice feature for this module.

I think this should be implemented in the same way I suggested for the Property Agent feedback submissions regarding map integration. I suggest implementing support for KML feeds from News Articles. Ideally, it would be templated in such a way as to allow for use of any of the template fields, including custom fields. Both Google and Bing support KML, as do many other geo-centric applications and services. Implementing geo support this way would make it easier to implement in multiple Ventrian modules and provide flexibility in integration support.

I added a request in the feedback center - add [RSS] token to Listing.Header and Listing.Footer - that I think would go a long way toward allowing us to create our own templates that integrate mapping.

Right now, I am using PA for a database of soccer fields and I modified the RSS template to include coordinates in georss tags. This made it really easy to include a link to a map of all the fields by just appending ?mapurl= to the Bing Maps URL.

I could make this even more dynamic and interactive by having the RSS token available in the header and footer of the listings. This would allow me to easily put a dynamic map in the header and/or footer of the listings that shows a map of the currently displayed list of fields.

Scott, how's it looking to get the RSS token in the header and footer of the listings?
