Thanks for that Scott.

[Category] would also be great, especially for the Latest News Module.

In addition to [CATEGORY], [PRINTARTICLE] and [EMAILARTICLE] would be nice.

When I use the module print icon, I reverts back to the main view with the list of articles.

Thanks for the module and the template list.

I was checking out your blog and it occurred to me that it would be nice to have  [NEXTARTICLE] and [PREVIOUSARTICLE] tokens to ease navigation when you are viewing articles.

Thanks again.

Great suggestions guys!

[CATEGORY] would display a list of categories comma seperated (by default, configurable through the xml file) that link to each category. Sound right?

Sounds good but also if it wasn't there then it wouldn't show up at all. On one of my sites I'd prefer that the couldn't see the category listing.

How about adding [LASTCOMMENTUSER] , [LASTCOMMENTDATE] , and [LASTCOMMENTTIME]

I would like to have something like this on the bottom of my summary..

[COMMENT], [COMMENT:XXX], [COMMENTUSER], [COMMENTDATE], [COMMENTIME] would be good for Latest Articles when listing Most Commented articles to show details of the most recent comments instead of the article title. So you can have "Scott on News Article Tokens" links.

For Category it would be good to have [HASCATEGORY], [/HASCATEGORY] in addition to [CATEGORY].

I'd also like to be able to have more stats. for latest articles such as...

Most Commented On
==============
News Articles (3)

...when there have been 3 comments on an article. Perhaps [COMMENTCOUNT] in latest articles?

Same for categories showing the number of articles in a category...

Categories
=======
News Articles (25)
Shout Box (5)

...when there are (x) number of articles in a category. Perhaps [CATEGORYCOUNT]?

Scott, would it be possible to get a variation of your comma delimited [CATEGORY] (if that's how you go with it) where it shows only the category the article belongs to?

Take the default template for an example. It would be nice if there are multiple categories you could headline it a little bit better in the title. Say [ASSIGNEDCATEGORY] - [CREATEDDATE] . Actually that might even be nice in the Listing View.

It should only show 1 category if that has all has been assigned? The category list would be assigned categories only as well?

Something like this I thought, see the filed under section..

Not so much that the category list would be assigned categories but that the category name that the article is assigned to could be displayed. The link you posted looks like it would work in a template.

What's happening is I've got a site admin that keeps putting adding a separate announcement module everytime something is added to the site and I think that many instances of the module (>15) is causing the server's CPU to be pinned. Just a guess but that's the best I can come up with at the moment.

Anyways, I figure that if I can get him to just use the News Articles module on the front page then it's just one instance but can cover however many categories he wants and visitors can tell at a glance what it pertains to.

Not sure what you mean by not being able to take articles out? You just need to unpublish the article and it no longer shows up.

Hi Scott,

I have a Latest Article module that show the latest 5 article of "myCategory". So I want add at the footer (or header) a link "view all" that works like [CATEGORIES]. It should be a link to the category of the Latest Article module. There is some feature like this?

Bye.

I have add two token in Latest Article for this purpose (in Header and Footer):

[MODULECATEGORIES] comma delimited list of module categories hyperlinked
[MODULECATEGORY]     hyperlink of first module category (permit to customize the text of hyperlink, for example <a href=[MODULECATEGORY]>Read all...</a>, raccomanded use for module that shows only one category article)

If these can be useful to someone or, Scott, you want add these in the next relese, where I can post the code?

Since I started using the module to develope a recipe repository I am getting some significant pressure for a "print" option.

Is anyone aware of a way to do this without a token?
