Hi Scott,

We are using the NewsArticles module on our site (under development - but hopefully going live within about 48 hours).  There are a few things that I'm struggling with - I think some of them are "user issues" (i.e. I can't figure out how to configure the module) and some of them may be limitations.  Here goes:

(1) SORT ORDER: I cannot seem to sort the Latest Articles module in descending order by Publish date (with the newest articles first).  I thought this was a limitation of the module - but I see from some other user responses that it looks like this is possible.  When I configure the Latest Articles module, I select Sort By and Publish Date - but I don't see an option for descending there.  What am I doing wrong?

(2) SHOWING PUBLISH DATE: We would like to be able to show the publish date on our website within the Latest Articles module - there is not currently a tag for that.  Is there an undocumented tag that we can use ... or would it be possible to get you to add that tag soon?

(3) DISPLAYING FULL ARTICLES: We would like to have a lot more control of displaying full articles - right now it looks like this display uses the administrative skin/container.  Is there any way that we can have more control over the page layout when the user clicks "Read More" or "Read Full Article"?

(4) NEWSARTICLES DISPLAY: We would like to have a little more control of the NewsArticles display too.  Providing the same kind of templates used in LatestArticles would be a huge help.  The ability to selectively turn off the links at the top of the module would also be helpful.  Also, the ability to apply a container/CSS to the Categories, Search and Syndication areas would be helpful - the container used at present is so different from what our site uses that it almost feels like the user has left our site.

I realize getting to some of the items in #4 could take a while - but if you could help us with getting #1, #2 and #3 setup soon it would be a tremendous help to us.

Thanks

- Geoff

1.) I have a patch for this that I'll be releasing later (about 10hrs from now)

2.) I'll add this in the patch above

3.) There is an option in admin to launch links, uncheck this and then you will get full control.

4.) There are templates available for the main module, they are just in a little different folder, take a look in /DesktopModules/NewsArticles/Templates. You can select what template to use in admin options.
