Just a thought while I remember.

Did you ever come across Magic Gadget for DNN2?

It was great, you could allow certain users to view certain parts of text from just using tags, eg. [RegisteredUser]Welcome member[/RegisteredUser]

I can't quite remember the wording etc. but that was the basis behind how it all worked, among many other tags such as image gallery, random image etc. everything you needed was handled in this one module.

Have you thought about implementing something like this inside the articles module?

It would be ideal for creating one article which has the text details for both Registered and un-authenticated users, allowing you to easily create the content for a subscription based site.

Just a thought for the day!

I sent Scott a copy of my magic gadget program for him to look at.  Unfortunately, the author never released the source and has been impossible to reach.  I tried to track him down on several occasions without success.  I too think that implementing Magic Gadget functaionlity ion newsarticles and newsletters would be exactly what the doctor ordered, but have not heard back from Scott on any implmentation plans.   I know that Speerio was planning on implementing some of the magic gadget functionality in their NukeHTML product, but I have not seen evidence of it at all.

That functionality would be great along with the templating function, Jeff, you sent me the manual right? I might look up a list of tags.

Feel free to post the list of tags here you would like however..

Too many to list here I think.

Here is a link www.asop.org/files/mghelp.pdf  to the pdf help manual (it's too large to upload to the forum).  This is a VERY often asked for module for anyone that has ever used it.

Thanks Jeff, I'll take a look at it over the next few days.
