I am trying to come up with a way for a client to post documents with formatting and in many cases images using your module.  So these docs are originally layed out in Word and many have inline images... copy and paste into the module will work but is not the greatest.... just a litle tight for this client.

So I thought perhaps post link to a pdf file.. this will work but then I dont get content search when the users query the module... so anyone help me on this?

Thanks

The only thing that I know of that'll accept and parse Word docs is Peter Donker's MHTML module. You can find it at http://www.bring2mind.net . Maybe you can combine the source from that with the NA source and make it a custom module for this one client.

I tested this.. not really what I am looking for.  I need something just like articles that when a file is uploaded can parse the text and index it.  Thus returning the full text search on the document.

Hmmm okay. I'm not sure if there's anything out there that'll do what you want with Word files. The problem with Word and the web is MS does it a little funky.

You would probably need to alter the search provider found in dotnetnuke to search documents as well. This has been talked about a little bit in the asp.net forums, but I'm not sure if anyone has implemented it.

This is just what I want to do.  I want the user to post PDF files so he can keep his formatting and images, etc but need the search to search within the documents he posts as if they were site content.
