What is the recommended configuration for notifications of comments. It seems like EVERYONE who posts articles gets notified when a comment is posted.

Also, the admin always seems to get notified as well.

Thanks!

OK getting a little more clarity here... all admins seem to get notified when a comment is submitted. Is there any way to disable this? It's causing much confusion.

What notification options do you have configured in the module?

The options are notify owner (author) on comment, notify email address on comment and/or notify each person that comments (if they have notify me checked).

If you have moderation enabled, this will also generate an approval email.

I have tried turning off all notifications but it seems that Administrators ALWAYS get comment notifications.

So you create a new article, add a comment and an admin gets notified?

The only steps for notifications are the ones mentioned in my previous post.

We have multiple administrators on our sites.

I have an existing article. I turn off all notifications. Someone posts a comment, everyone who is in the administrators group gets the notification.

It was causing a lot of confusion because it was not just the author who was getting notification of the comments, it was EVERYONE who was in the administrators group (which is about 6 people).

I had 2 different accounts in the administrators group, so i would get 2 emails for every comment until i removed myself from the admin group.

BTW - Not sure if this was ever resolved but it sounds like the same issue:

Do you have "moderation" enabled? Are there other comments on that article? This is why I asked you to create a new article.

The only way people are notified:-

* If comment is requiring approval -> approvers groups
* If a user has already posted to an article and checked "Notify Me"
* Admin settings -> notify email address on comment
* Admin settings -> notify owner (author) on comment

If you are using "shared" emails that go out to a group of people, this may also be causing an issue.

That wasn't really an issue because the user checked "notify me" when they posted a comment.

I just tested a new article as per your post.

Configuration:

Allow comments: True

Allow anonymoous: True

Enable comment moderation: True

Use Captcha: True

Notify default: False

Notify approvers on submission: false

Notify Email add on Submission: empty

notify owner on approval: false

notify owner on comment: false

notify email on comment: empty

The user who posted the comment was anonymous and DID NOT check "notify me".

I have 2 accounts in the Administrators group and received 2 notification emails that there is a comment waiting.
