Good day,

I really like this news module, but would like to remove the "Actions: Email Permalink Kick It! DZone It! del.icio.us" area.  Is there a way to remove, or hide this section from the general population?

Thanks,

- Joe

Hi Joe,

go into the NA admin options, site templates and select the view.item.html for the template you are using. Scroll down and you'll find the section with 'Actions:' Delete or comment out as necessary. You may find that it is best to copy this template and rename it so that any upgrades do not wipe out your changes.

Hope this helps

Barry

That did it Barry, thanks!  I had a look under Admin Options before, but wasn't logged in with the appropriate account and therefore the "site templates" option was not previously available.

Thanks for helping out a struggling admin!

I might have been a bit premature on the statement of "that did it".  I was able to find the template and modify the code (tried both commenting out the appropriate section as well as delete the section) but the "Actions: ...." section still remains.  Am I missing a step?  Do I have to sync the files, copy it somewhere else, etc?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but just new to this stuff!

Thanks again,

- Joe

Joe, did you press update after commenting out the actions section on the view.item.html template?

Yes I did click on the "Update" link.

I just had a look at the other templates and the only other one with the "Actions" section was "Listing.Item.Html".  I edited this one as well and that seemed to do the trick?  Am I not using the module correctly, as the template suggested to edit was "View.Item.Html?

Thanks,

- Joe

I'm sure that you are doing ok Joe. Listing.item.html is used where you are showing the summary or brief details in the list of articles, view.item.html is used when you show the full details of the article.
