I have an archive module on a different page from my listing module. I set the mode to category and then chose a parent category, no articles show up in the list. If I select "No parent category", then they all show up.

Articles all have categories and most have expration dates so why:

1. When I filter by a category, none show up

2. When I don't filter by category, all of them show up. When I click the link in the archive, I go to the main article list and it is filtered by category, but not expiration date?

Also as an enhancement, it would be great to filter by both date and category.

1. This looks to be an issue.

2. Linking from category will take you to a view category page, do you mean sort by expiration date?

Not sort by expiration date, only view expired articles. Is that not what an archive is? I only want to show expired articles, grouped by the category.

If the archive module shows the user:

Archive
-----------
CategoryX (9)

Then the user would reasonable assume that clicking on that would show nine expired articles in that category

By default it shows all articles in that category, not just expired ones. It's meant to simulate blogs where they have a category list, author list, month list, etc.

I can add a setting that would show only expired. The module uses the same view category screen as the one that is selected when you click a category in the main module.

That would be great. Perhaps passed in via url parameter from the archive to the main list. If you could get that in your next release, you'd save me a ton of embaressment.
